Describe a time when you faced a challenge that pushed you to grow academically or personally. How did that experience help you to soar to greater heights? What motivates you to succeed academically, and how do you plan to continue soaring in your education and beyond? What goals are you working toward, and how are you preparing yourself to reach new heights in the future?

A trailblazer woman is also a pioneer, a discoverer, an innovator, and a leader. Being a trailblazer requires self-love, self-worth, and resistance to limiting beliefs.

Majoring in Business Administration or attending The University of Montevallo
Essay Prompt: Describe a time when you stepped outside of conventional expectations or took an unconventional path to pursue a goal, solve a problem, or create something new. What inspired you to take this path? How did you navigate resistance, risk, or uncertainty? What impact did your actions have, and how do you continue to embody the spirit of a trailblazer in your academic, personal, or community life?

A study that focuses on any topic tailored to preparing students to become teachers and educators in a variety of environments.

How do you define the role of a teacher in preparing students for success both inside and outside the classroom? What challenges and opportunities do you see in educating students from different cultural, linguistic, or socioeconomic backgrounds? How will your personal experiences, values, and goals influence your teaching philosophy and approach? What innovations or strategies do you believe are essential for the future of education?

The service should have a noticeable and positive impact on the community, with
measurable results, according to community sources provided.

Essay Prompt: Community service is more than just giving time — it’s about
making an impact. Describe a community service experience that has been most meaningful to you. What inspired you to get involved, what challenges did you face, and how did the experience shape your character, leadership, and future aspirations? Be sure to reflect on how your service demonstrates your commitment to creating positive change. How will you continue to serve and inspire those in your community?

Essay Prompt: The Valley Service Foundation believes in uplifting students who show promise and purpose. What would receiving this award mean to you, and how do you plan to use your education to make a difference in your life and the lives of
others?

Proof of acceptance in an HBCU upon selection and presenting enrollment verification prior to attending college. (Enrollment verification is typically provided after a student has graduated). If a student elects to change schools he/she will forfeit the HBCU Award Scholarship and funds will return to VPSF, due to criteria not being met.

Essay Prompt: Historically Black Colleges and Universities have long been centers of academic excellence, cultural pride, and community empowerment. Attending an HBCU offers not only an education, but also an opportunity to become part of a living legacy of leadership, resilience, and achievement.
